New Forest Senior Moves provides a service to help older people move home. We ease the stress of moving home for older people moving to and within the New Forest area by supporting our clients physically, logistically We can help by managing the whole process, or just with certain aspects of the move. We are independent and work with other local businesses in the community.

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

When helping older people move home, we will make sure we are aware of clients who may have dementia and make sure we give them the best and most appropriate service we can.

Helping the families of those with dementia if a move is necessary for their loved one.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Making sure that people are aware of our service.

Making sure we ask for the support we need if the situation requires it.

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff (one man band at present!)

    Ensure we become aware of issues facing those with dementia, especially in terms of where they live.
