1. Action Plan

We provide goods and services to people with dementia that support them in their daily living and enable them to stay at home and in their community, enjoying the best quality of life for longer

We improve our customer service through increasing staff awareness and understanding of dementia

We enable people living with dementia to be part of the community and to daily and social activities

We respond to the individuals needs and offer support

2. Actions

  • Providing a dementia friendly environment

    We conducted a walk around the premises to look at ways in which we could change the physical environment to become more dementia friendly.

    We identified the following actions :

    New clear signage to the toilets to include symbol not just words

    Arrows and colours to show the way out

    Change the colour of the toilet seats from white to a contrasting colour

  • Dementia Awareness Raising

    We have appointed a Dementia Champion who will help to deliver the dementia friends awareness sessioins to our team of 26 staff

  • Sharing Best Practice

    We will share that we are now members of the Newbury DAA and our dementia friendly work with other practices and across the Newbury and District CCG.
