Bluebird Care (Newbury)

Bluebird Care (Newbury) provides care to people in their own homes including those with Dementia thus promoting their independent living. Our stadd are trained to a high level of Dementia Awareness.

1. Action Plan

Provide goods  & services to people with dementia that support them in their daily living and enable them to stay at home and in their community enjoying the best quality of life for longer.

Improving customer service through increased staff awareness and understanding of dementia

Enabling people with dementia to be part of their community and continue to do daily and social activities

Responding to the individuals needs and offering support

  • Dementia Friendly Working Practices

    Bluebird Care (Newbury) accept cheuque payments

  • LDAA Participation

    John Prendergast has offered to become a member of the Newbury DAA Steering Group which will be suporting the legacy of this project and maintaining and strengthening it locally.

    Make available our training room for Steering Group Meetings, Dementia Action Alliance events or training

  • Dementia Awareness Raising

    Recruit Dementia Friends from within our Care Workers using a range of staff interactions e.g. staff meetings, supervisions, meetings with Dementia Champions etc.

    Ensure all our staff (circa 60) attenda a dementia awareness raising session delivered by our dementia champion

    All care workers to support activities of partner members e.g. distributing Fire Safety information, Alzheimer's Society activity sheets, coin charts etc.

    We will appoint at least 2 Dementia Champions who will deliver dementia awareness training sessions to customer's families. In addition these Dementia Champions will cascade awareness to range of local relevant organisations.
