1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Our aim is to raise the awareness around dementia not just within our branch but our community, ensuring that we prove the correct, friendly and supportive service to all who come into our branch.

 We want to make sure that everything is done in the right way, as well as protecting our customers that may have dementia when they see the team.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

 Raising awareness in branch as well as what to do when a situation arises, as well as making sure our message is clear across the network.

2. Actions

  • Roll out dementia friends sessions to the branch and hub network

    Raise awareness with our branch & network around dementia. With a view of recruiting a number of dementia champions. Look to run small sessions as well as showing the team the awareness videos which are available.

  • Customer engagement and support

    Look to keep open links with the DAA community to help the branch provide the safest environment for our customers. With regular attendance to meetings when they arise.

  • Help support the cause by holding a DAA event at branch

    After a recently successful awareness event, we will look to set-up another event to help keep dementia be out there. Will work with local teams to arrange a date.
