1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

CALLplus will raise awareness of dementia through specialised training for staff and volunteers which will then be implemented via our support framework for those with life-limiting illness and their carers in our areas of operation. We will invite people into our care settings, making our resources available to those in need. We will engage with the wider community informing our stakeholders and supporters of our work and disseminate this to our commissioners and the wider community.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

The challenge is to ensure that all staff and volunteers have an understanding of the issues raised by dementia so that they will be better equipped to work with service users and their families whose lives are affected by dementia.
