1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

As a Retail Florist our primary role is Customer Service and therefore providing the best possible positive experience on in our Shop for all Customers.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

For us the challenge would be time. We work alone sometimes and can have more than one customer in the shop at a busy period. I am aware that a Customer with Dementia and their Carer would require more time
to ensure their experience with us was a positive one.

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

    Ensure all staff, attend a dementia awareness raising session

  • Dementia Friendly products

    Flower orders executed for Customers with Dementia are bespoke and include Scent and Colour.

  • Dementia Friendly Environment

    Staff aware of the need for interior of Shop to be as Dementia Friendly as possible.
