1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We aim to make our customers who have from dementia’s journey and aftercare service as easy and positive as possible. We ensure our practice environment is dementia friendly and we use clear pricing structures and help with frame styling and fitting.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We are aware that as we have several different spectacle lens options and several promotions running, which can appear confusing sometimes. Our opticians will always make lens recommendations for the patients and the dispensing staff will always work out which way is financially best for the patient as to which promotion to use according to their needs and preferences

2. Actions

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

Ensure all staff, attend a dementia awareness raising session

  • Dementia Friendly Premises

Reviewed premises and will continue to ensure our practice environment is as dementia friendly as possible.
