1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

To fully understand challenges faced by those with dementia and be able to respond to their needs by providing a welcoming environment and staff who are able to assist

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We are a small branch with only a few staff members, we are very busy most of the time and  our workload is very unpredictable making training hard to schedule sometimes.

  • Dementia Awareness raising for staff

     Ensure staff attend a dementia awareness raising session

  • Embed the concept of ‘Dementia Friendly’ within the business

     Review business operations manuals and guidance to ensure dementia awareness is included/ We keep the local Dementia Advice number on file also.
