1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
We are committed to helping people become and stay active and healthy. Are goal is to create a place where everybody in the committee can come and enjoy the benefits of physical activity, or simply come and meet to enjoy the social side of leisure.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
Our main challenge will be working with the current building design, layout, signage and equipment. The building is around 40 years old, and despite a number of refurbishments, the main lay out of the structure remains a challenge.
Staff awareness of the difficulties for those people with dementia will also be a challenge to us, although one which can be over come by training and education.
