1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

In addition to providing a conduit for information to and from people living with dementia and their carers, they can also benefit from the social aspects of our meetings, pub lunches and outings. In 2012 we were awarded a grant from the Health Lottery which has enabled us to launch an Art for the Brain group which offers monthly art therapy sessions.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Our main challenges are in gaining referrals to our group from health professionals, attracting new volunteers and in seeking funding.
