1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Through Pfizer's support for the Dementia Friendly Communities project, and a major sponsor of the project in 2013, the company is working to raise awareness of the effects of dementia and suppor services availalbe. This is being led by a presentation at the site by the local DFC co-ordinator, Peter Marsh. Peter and members of local Age UK organisations will speak to colleagues in May to educate on how dementia patients can be better supported in the community and how the project is working to achieve that goal. In addition they will provide information on how those impacted by the condition can reach out for support, and will encourage colleagues to become a 'Dementia Friend'.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We have a wide audience at the site, with the biggest challenge being colleague engagement given that people are here in a working capacity.
