1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists a number of outcomes that we are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Our aims are to provide a service which is proven to slow down the progressive disibility of our guests whilst giving carers and family members a much needed respite. We work in conjunction with wigan council brokerage team who use our services. We also have many guests who pay privately.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Our organisation is nurse led by a dementia champion. Our staff are all trained to the relevant NVQ levels. We also have staff trained in the use of CST. We also have volunteers who come from the local hospital on their days off plus college students taking their placements within our company and also we have retired nursing staff helping out. Everybody helps in delivering an excellent service for our guests and their families and carers. Demanding but Rewarding.
