1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We will embark in ongoing management and development of staff to ensure that the care we offer specifically takes the needs of people with dementia into account, and that the environment and local community (including friends, family, etc.) are as dementia friendly as possible, in line with our mission to take a family-led approach providing person-centred care and specialisms in dementia.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Challenges centre on our ability to deliver compassionate effective care with respect to the increasing levels of dementia in care home settings, which needs to be delivered alongside concern for the other types of needs of each individual.
