2. Actions

  • Promote the use of Towertafel

As a care home for the elderly we designed and implemented a residential dementia community for individuals who require 24hour care. Within this community we have installed a Towertafel which is commonly known as a magic table –  it is a fun care innovation that connects older people in the late stage of their dementia journey with each other and their surroundings

    Being implemented
  • Source enhanced Dementia training

All of our team attend dementia awareness on their initial induction, they also have an annual refresher. We aim to source additional training that would enable our team to enhance the wellbeing of our residents and support friends and families  on this difficult journey

    Being implemented
  • Implement a Community Dementia coffee morning

We aim to introduce a monthly Dementia coffee morning , to be held at Formby Manor one day a month inviting people who are living with dementia and  are currently living at home. This facility would be beneficial to carers that may benefit from the brief respite and possibly meet other families who may be struggling
