1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Providing a inclusive supported shopping experience for  the general public of Tendring . We will endeavor to provide an inclusive service for all our customers ,but will undertake extra steps to support those with dementia and their carers to make the shopping experience as stress free as possible.

We will ensure all our staff are dementia friends and understand the sunflower lanyard scheme

We also have chosen to support Alzheimers and Dementia uk as our nominated charities 

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Costs and restrictions to changing the environment

  • Dementia Friends

    All staff will do the Dementia Friend awareness sessions and this will become part of any new staff induction process

    we will support Dementia awareness raising and Dementia research by fundraising- Alzheimers and Dementia UK are our national charities

    to introduce a specific time and day where we support people living with dementia by offering slow shopping

    to accept and understand when people are wearing the sunflower lanyard whet this means and support accordingly
