1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Having had more than ten years experience developing and running workshops for the residential care industry, we have learnt everything we know from the wonderful residents in care we have worked with. Our way of working has come naturally and we support carers, activity coordinators, people with dementia and learning disabilities maintain wellbeing and creativity. Creative Mojo is a team of 60 plus experienced Workshop leaders with passion for engagement and creativity.

We not only have tailored projects focussing on seasonal, cultural, art history and popular art movements but also love working with people on new ideas. Creative Mojo focuses on celebrating our clients and the positives in care focussing on the amazing creative work achieved.

Quite simply, our workshops assist in getting people with dementia's Mojo back! By using our bespoke shapes and associated projects, individuals who may have lost their previous confidence in being creative can join in, regain this confidence and feel able to express themselves once again.

We are here to support the creative needs of people with dementia, profound and multiple learning disabilities.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

During these difficult times, whilst all our clients homes are on lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have put together delivery and downloadable options.

With social isolation in place it makes providing our traditional classes in homes a challenge. Creative Mojo are now delivering 1-2-1 Art Packs directly to poeple living at home and residents in care homes.
