1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Educating other staff on how better to serve those affected by dementia, and improving the special support provided to enable those with dementia to maintain independence.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Balancing concern for improving dementia friendliness with the wider remit of the role.

2. Actions

  • Dementia Friends

    Attend a Dementia Friends session at the Merton Dementia Hub, and use this knowledge to advocate dementia friendly banking and any wider organisational programmes that could be of assistance.

  • Information Provision

    Continue to inform as many people as possible about Lasting Power of Attorney, as well as any other financial or legal things they can do that will make life easier if someone develops dementia in the future.

  • Referrals

    Inform people affected by dementia of the Merton Dementia Hub to ensure they get the support they need.
