1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We could make the staff more dementia aware so that if someone who visits the centre needs help, they will be better equipped.

We would also like to make the centre dementia friendly.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?


2. Actions

  • Organise dementia friends sessions for all new staff

    We will get all staff trained and commit to training new staff within 6 months of them starting.

  • Support the local DAA

    Support the local DAA by hosting a community outreach event

  • Raise awareness of dementia to all the businesses who trade from the Willow Brook Centre

    We will share information on the tenant staff App due to launch next month and invite tenants to a Dementia Friends session

  • Ensure facilities are dementia friendly

    Ensure that all public toilets at the Willow Brook centre are dementia friendly by placing appropriate dementia friendly signs.

  • ensure that all staff at the Willow Brook are dementia friends

    ensure that all staff at the Willow Brook are dementia friends by attending the dementia information sessions. This includes cleaning/security/maintenance/management.

  • Work towards the Willow Brooks Centre being dementia friendly

    Including having appropriate seating and having dementia friendly signs.
