1. Action Plan
1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
In my work as a celebrant I work with people of all ages and all walks of life. Being dementia-friendly mean I can offer inclusive ceremonies: funerals, weddings, and others. My specific goal is to make the funeral world more dementia friendly. I would like to encourage other funeral professionals (officiants, funeral arrangers, funeral directors and crematorium staff) to become Dementia Friends and offer dementia-friendly services for the people they work with.
2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?
Lack of time!
