Information about the Northamptonshire DAA

Northamptonshire DAA

The Northamptonshire DAA was the first local alliance to be set up in the East Midlands. The local alliance held their first meeting in February 2013 which was followed by an official launch in the May during dementia awareness week.

Chair - Dr Jacqueline Parks of University of Northampton

Vice Chair - Louise Musson Northampton Borough Council

Our Aims

1)      Increase local involvement:

We would love to have more members and welcome them from both the public and private sectors.  Please come along to a meeting or contact the Chair of Vice Chair if you would like to know more about joining.

2)      Increase the number of Dementia Friends in Northamptonshire

We want to make Northamptonshire a more Dementia Friendly place to live and work in.

  • The Northamptonshire DAA has 18 local members
  • Members have been sharing information and best practice over the last year
  • Members have been able to offer training to the Northamptonshire Fire Service

How to Join the Northamptonshire DAA

Any organisation that operates in Northamptonshire and wants to radically change the lives of people living with dementia can become a member of the DAA and get involved locally. To join the DAA please complete an action plan. The commitment we then ask from members is to attend quarterly meetings, report quarterly on their actions and get involved in the local work of the alliance. We also ask members for inkind contributions including room hire, administrative support and refreshment
