Achievements

Accredited as Working Towards Being a Dementia Friendly Community

Basildon Borough Dementia Action Alliance covers the areas of Basildon, Wickford , Laindon and Pitsea. The Basildon DAA is an alliance that is working to improve the lives of people living with dementia , and or their carers in the Basildon Borough. Members of the alliance include people from statutory organisations like Essex County Council as well as charities and individuals. Members include:

Basildon Borough Council , Healthwatch Essex, United in Kind, Carers Choices, Carers First, Peaceful Place, Home instead, Sanders Senior Living, St Lukes Hospice, ABACUS School, AIM Counselling , George Hurd Activity Centre, BBWCVS, Community dentistry, Barnados, Mid & South Essex University NHS Hospital Trust, Essex Fire Service, Alzheimers Society, Essex Libraries, Sports for Confidence, Everyone Active, Basildon Community Transport. 

Basildon DAA received “Working to become Dementia Friendly” accreditation for 20th April 2022.  Alzheimer’s Society accreditation is awarded annually.

Note: Actions are aligned with the key objectives in the Essex Dementia Strategy:

Basildon Dementia Action Alliance and Basildon Borough has been awarded Working Towards Dementia Friendly Community Status from 20th April 2022. This will be re accredited each year.
