South Tees Dementia Action Alliance

Cleveland Police implementing the Herbert Protocol

The County Durham Dementia Action Alliance will achieve its aims by bringing together organisations from public, private and charity sectors - not just from health and social care , but from sectors such as the emergency services, retailers and transport operators and community facilities

The ultimate aim is to encourage local communities in South Tees to become dementia friendly - increasing awareness of the condition and how the community can work together to reduce stigma allowing people with dementia to contribute as fully as possible to community life.

Our main objectives will be to:

1: Raise awareness about dementia with all groups, in particular young people, students and churches

2: To ensure all transport within South Tees is working towards the Dementia Friendly Transport Charter

3: To launch the new South Tees DAA

4: To create more Dementia friendly Communities in South Tees

5: To build relationships with businesses/communities/organisations across South Tees and create committed members of the South Tees DAA

6: To support the needs of emergency services within the South Tees area.

7: To support the needs of all religious establishments in the South Tees region
