Swanage Area Dementia Friendly Community

Aims  

  • To raise awareness and understanding of Dementia in the Swanage Area
  • Sharing best practice and understanding
  • To create a safe and non stigmatising community where people with dementia can live well
  • To create an environment where the carer and person with dementia can seek appropriate help and support
  • to raise funds for an Admiral Nurse within the Purbeck area.

Activities

SINGING FOR PLEASURE  - Community singing group held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday afternoons  in the month from 2.00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church. All abilities, all ages, all voices - no need to read music 

 

REMINISCE AND REMEMBER  - Join us at Swanage Library on 1st & 3rd Thursday mornings from 1.30 am to 12 noon for Tea and Chat over the old times with us.  Just come along - you'll be very welcome

 

Dementia Friends 

Becoming a Dementia Friend gives an understanding of dementia and the small things we can all do to make a difference. We offer one hour Dementia Awareness sessions to everyone in the Swanage area including businesses, shops, organisations and individuals
