Meeting Centres Support Programme: UK National Conference

Event Date:
Tuesday 21 March 2017
University of Worcester Arena, Severn Campus

University of Worcester will be presenting the key findings from the 3-year MeetingDem research Programme for the first time within the UK and their aim is to reflect on whether this locally driven innovation for supporting people with dementia and their families could realistically become part of the post-diagnostic offer to people with dementia in the UK. They will be focussing on how it could work with the following drivers:

  • The Dementia Care Pathway
  • Collaboration between local health and care providers
  • Dementia Friendly Communities
  • Universities & Dementia
  • Housing and Extra Care housing
  • Workforce skills and competencies

People with dementia, their families and local stakeholders involved with the Meeting Centres say they’re great – see the main film: Meeting Centres Support Programme  - but they are facing unprecedented challenges in affording our health and social care at present. Funding even modest services like this one at the scale required is such a challenge.

The conference is free but there are limited places so please book your place at this event.
