Meeting Centre Pioneer Workshops

This free event focuses on Meeting Centres which have been set up to support people with mild to moderate dementia and their families. These centres offer an enjoyable, flexible and adaptive programme and are a low-cost community based way of give support.

These workshops are for anyone who is part of a Local DAA as these meeting centres apply the practical aspects of DAA's work to encourage local actions to support people affected by dementia. For further information download the MeetingDem Newsletter December 2015.

At the Meeting Centre Pioneer Workshops you will hear about  MEETINGDEM, the research programme the meeting centres are a part of and how they are central to evaluating whether support can be implemented in the UK, Italy and Poland. More specfically the workshops we will cover: -

  1. The background to Meeting Centres - history, principles and ethos including the adjusting to change approach.
  2. How to set up an Initiative Group of interested stakeholders.
  3. Creating an implementation plan
