West Yorkshire Police (WYP) have adopted and launched the Herbert Protocol and are actively involved in our local DAA – from frontline policing and from the Adult Safeguarding team. Colleagues from the Alzheimer’s Society are delivering bespoke dementia awareness training to WYP officers to create Dementia Community Champions. A number of WYP officers are training to become Dementia Friends (DF) Champions and will deliver DF sessions to spread awareness amongst colleagues and contacts within the community.
