Creating Dementia Friends in Bracknell Forest DAA

A combined DAA launch event with the ‘Safe Place’ scheme was held on 11th May 2015. The Mayor has also become a Dementia Friend, and the story was covered by the local newspaper.

A Waitrose store in Bracknell have held two Dementia Friends sessions creating 11 Friends and have been committed to the local DAA.

The local Bracknell and Wokingham College have created 74 Dementia Friends over four sessions with students and staff.

Bracknell Town Council have been very supportive of the DAA and have allowed us to host monthly Dementia Friends sessions in their Council Chambers for the public.

To date 198 Dementia Friends have been created by the LDAA Co-ordinator in Bracknell Forest since January 2015
