1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Track Your Ltd provides monitoring devices, helping people with dementia retain their independence for longer, whilst providing reassurance to their carers.

Our GPS Trackers are compact, and are worn by the person with dementia.  If they then wander from home and become lost, their Carer can visually display their whereabouts (via a Smartphone or PC).

As well as this ‘Locate’ function, Trackers also include the following:

'Geo-Fence' (To alert Carer if Tracker-Wearer exits a virtual perimeter)

'Speed' (Detects whether Tracker-Wearer has unexpectedly boarded a moving vehicle)

SOS & Talk Buttons On Tracker (Reassurance for person with dementia that they can contact Carer/family member if they need assistance)

Visit www.Trackyour.co.uk for our Values, Vision and Product Range.

In summary, we adhere to the National Dementia Declaration by:

  • Enabling people with Dementia to have control over their life, and supporting their ability to do things that matter to them (e.g. going for walks unaccompanied)
  • Providing products to people with dementia that support them in their daily living, enabling them to stay at home and in their community for longer
  • Assisting people with Dementia to live in their own home, whilst providing support and reassurance for their Carers

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

There is a general acceptance that GPS Trackers are beneficial to people with dementia, to locate them if they wander away from home and get lost. They’re also a great reassurance to their Carers.

However, certain GPS Trackers aren’t user-friendly, by only sending a text message containing their numeric co-ordinates to the Carer who has requested the tracker’s location (requiring the Carer to go to a PC to obtain the tracker-wearers whereabouts).

Track Your GPS Trackers are unique - our Smartphone app enables the tracker-wearer to be located via the Carer’s Smartphone map (so the Carer can locate the tracker-wearer, even if they are out and about and not able to access a PC).

Also, unlike other companies, we don’t charge monthly contract fees.

Our challenge is getting this information known – we’d love to help confused people with dementia with our innovative technology, but are struggling to successfully approach large organisations.

To ensure our Trackers are effective for both people living with dementia and Carers alike. Ongoing

  • We need to effectively market our products

We are currently attempting to approach various Councils and Organisations, to explain how our GPS Trackers can help keep dementia sufferers safer and more independent.

    2015 - Second Quarter Update

We have been proactively advertising our products for people with dementia (within the publication Dear Dr).  We have also been highlighting the use of our trackers for other conditions, such as Autism (and have advertised with the Aukids magazine).

We have noticed sales are also increasing due to 'word of mouth' - as people buy our products, they are realising the effectiveness of enabling a more independent lifestyle for the tracker-wearer, and are communicating this to their community.

We are delighted that we are enabling greater independence for a wide range of people who are utilising our technology.

Ongoing - continuing to advertise within appropriate journals e.g. Dear Dr

  • We will advertise the use of Assistive Technology via our website

We will include testimonials on our website, www.Trackyour.co.uk, from Carers who have witnessed how our GPS Trackers have enhanced the lives of dementia sufferers.  This will give hope to other Carers.

Ongoing - Reviews are being added when received.

    2015 - Second Quarter Update

We are in the process of approaching customers to obtain reviews which can be posted on our website, giving confidence to Carers who may be considering purchasing our products.

  • Add new languages

We aim to add new languages (for both the User Guides and for the Smartphone App) to assist both Dementia Patients plus their Carers from an array of nationalities.
