1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We want to support a dementia friendly community where everyone understands that they can contribute to people living well with dementia. We would like to have a representative on any forums which collect the views of people and their families and friends who are living with dementia.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

We are two small schools and already have a big task in educating pupils in the National curriculum subjects. However by incorporating the sessions into our curriculum we can deliver sessions to all our pupils. Committing time to be part the DAA will involve making sure that individuals do not over commit and are realistic about how much they can offer.
