1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

To contribute towards making Wolverhampton a dementia friendly city.

We will be guided by the Dementia action alliance as to what is important locally for people living with dementia.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Being able to engage the whole organisation in becoming dementia friendly. To overcome this, we would need to involve our Senior Management team to lead from the top.

This will be trialled at the Forget-me-not sensory garden, Swanmore Close, Bradmore, Wolverhampton to establish demand in the area.

A pop-up dementia café was provided at the venue on 20 March 2017. This was deemed a success, and a second pop-up café is planned for Friday 18 August 2017.
