Right at Home Croydon

Right at Home is a provider of care services to enable our clients to remain independent in their own homes. We support and encourage our clients to engage in social and physical activities and often a carer will take a client out into the community. Therefore it is very important to us our clients and their families that Croydon becomes a Dementia Friendly Community

1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We are a provider of care in the community and help support our clients to live well with Dementia in their own homes . We ensure our care is person centred by involving the client and their advocate in all decisions made about the planned care and any changes to the actual care.

Our carers  are caring, well trained  including becoming Dementia Friends and supported.

We want to encourage and support each our clients to play an active part in their community and participate in all the activities they want to. We will work with the client and other organisations to help make this happen

We want to help educate the carers families, through Dementia Friends session and participation on our carer training.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

  • Lead the Dementia Action Alliance to make life more dementia friendly for people with dementia in Croydon

We will gather a group of interested organisations to make Croydon more dementia friendly.

We will use our resources to help make this happen, for example hosting small meetings, paying for larger meeting rooms at the start of the Alliance to get interested organisations together in a room to help start the group.
