1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Over the next 5 years, Housing & Care 21 have pledged to raise awareness about dementia through helping 9,000 of our residents become Dementia Friends. Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer's society initiative to change people's perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition.

On a local level Ronald West Court aims to provide housing  in which residents living with dementia can live independently in a supportive dementia friendly environment.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

The challenges we face as an organisation is gaining the understanding and patience  of other residents towards those living with dementia hence the pledge to encourage esidents to become dementia friends.
