Memories is a twice monthly activity held in Wigan at Shevington Methodist lounge. It is arranged for every first and third Friday in the month from 2.00 p.m. until 4 00 p.m. It is an afternoon of pure nostalgia through the media of music, singing, reminiscing, Lancashire dialect poems , monologues and amusing stories. It encourages participants to be actively engaged in sharing their memories and experiences and sometimes involves guest speakers and musicians.

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?
It encourages people to share their distant memories and help to grow in confidence and participate in singing, playing musical instruments and reliving moments from the past.
