1. Action Plan

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

We serve the public and therefore have a role in enabling people with dementia to live well in an enabling and supportive environment where they feel valued and understood and have a sense of belonging and of being a valued part of family, community and civic life.

2. What are the challenges to delivering these outcomes from the perspective of your organisation?

Time and capacity, the business is a small local business.

2. Actions

  • Promotion of Dementia Friendly Communities

As a business we will show a positive and enabling attitude to people living with dementia including the active promotion of helping make Shevington and Wigan become more dementia friendly.
