1. Action Plan
We aim to recognise customers who are living with dementia as a customer focussed organisation we will strive to provide support, care, empathy and understanding in addressing customers individual needs when using our services. The bank has provided all front line staff with training in recent months in how to spot the signs of dementia and how to help these customers whilst in the branch. Training and raising of awareness around this topic is being co-ordinated for the area by one branch manager.
We support organisations connected with dementia. An awareness day and fundraising event was run in branch during quarter 4 2014 for the Alzheimer’s Society. The Alzheimer’s Society was also our named Charity in 2014.
Raising awareness and understanding
We will continue to up skill colleagues locally around dementia and dementia awareness. Management teams to ensure all bank training is rolled out to all colleagues.

Manage banking hall - supporting people with dementia and their carers
Keep certain quiet areas /desks/ rooms free so that customers appearing to be confused or disorientated can be supported in an area where they feel safe until relatives can be contacted / business has been concluded.
