Higherfolds Community Centre

Higher Folds Community Centre provides an important base for the community of Higher Folds and Leigh area, and is a hub for the local community and partners including Wigan Council, HMRC advice and Wigan and Leigh Housing among many others. The Centre offers training courses, leisure and social welfare activities and programmes. We are home to a number of clubs and groups from Craft to Karate (Activities & Groups) and now have Higher Folds 2 Year Olds Nursery (HF 2 Year Nursery) run and managed by Higher Folds Community Centre (a Registered Charity)

1. The National Dementia Declaration lists seven outcomes that the DAA are seeking to achieve for people with dementia and their carers. How would you describe your organisation’s role in delivering better outcomes for people with dementia and their carers?

Higherfolds Community Centre - we follow our community centre vision by engaging with people with dementia and their carers to improve their health and wellbeing. By meeting together in a warm, welcoming atmosphere we encourage and stimulate memories and discussion and encourage social inclusion.
