The Sefton Dementia Action Alliance is made up of organisations across Sefton, working together to radically improve the lives of people living with dementia and their carers.

The expected development of local Alliances across Sefton will result in the opportunity for Sefton Alliance members to get involved on a more local basis, and to attend quarterly meetings. In the meantime, please check this webpage for new members and updates.

New members must complete an Action Plan setting out what they can do to make a difference to people living with dementia. For more information on how to do this please contact  Gareth Dowling via gareth.dowling@alzheimers.org.uk

The Sefton DAA was officially launched on 18th May, during Dementia Awareness Week, at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre.

The launch included the following:

  • A welcome by the Mayor of Sefton
  • Living well with dementia – the perspective of two people who are the carers of someone living with dementia
  • Dementia Action Alliance – the aims of Sefton DAA
  • Dementia Friends Awareness session
  • Sharing good practice – a market place of information from current alliance members.

It was very well attended, and we hope lots of new members will join us as a consequence.
